No clanking when tipping rifle
by JC Flag
When walking quietly through the woods, ever tip your rifle and hear a faint clank? That's the weights inside the buffer. Not with this buffer. The powder used eliminates that noise. During shooting the recoil impulse is smooth. Only reason it gets 4 stars and not 5 is I've had the roll pin back out on an ST-T2 recently. Caught it before any damage to the receiver extension.

Smooth
by Big Daddy
Very smooth action so far I have one on a 9mm AR and now a 14.5" 5.56mm Colt SOCOM AR I'm building. No noise from the weights inside. I didn't hear that sprung sound usually from ARs which is attributed to the action spring. It could of course be the 9mm and I will be able to tell once I have the Colt together.

ST-T2

This thing is great. Now my go-to carbine buffer. No other buffer on the market looks more awesome, but that's not what matters. Every shot with this feels like it came out of a bolt gun. What I mean is you can hardly even feel the bolt cycling anymore with the tungsten powder in place of moving weights. A standard carbine buffer coupled with a stainless spring felt like "chungchung" with every shot. Now with the Spikes buffer and a chrome silicon spring its as smooth as it could be. The weight, I believe, is optimal.. Plop it in and shoot. This is really something else. Pick one up guys, you can't go wrong. Good luck to you all.

This isn't the first item I have purchased from Primary. The ship speed was fantastic (ordered and it arrived two days later) and the customer service is also fantastic. The buffer is great looking when not installed. Installed, you can't see it but you know its there when you fire the weapon. Tried the stock buffer with 55g and 65g (.223 and 5.56) rounds in rapid fire. Installed the T2 and performed the same testing. The T2 definitely smoothed out the action. No hangups, FTF or FTE. It is smoother but you will still hear some spring noise if using a stock spring. If that bothers you just get a flat spring. Otherwise I would highly recommend it.
