The XD-S Mod 2 OSP's design focuses on being an optics ready platform and small enough to conceal comfortably with a width profile of less than one inch wide. The low profile Crimson Trace CTS-1500 micro red dot optic system included provides you a much more accurate method of target acquisition and accuracy than many comparable handguns.
Firing a 9mm round, the XD-S Mod 2 features a cold hammer-forged steel slide with a single stack frame and an enhanced grip texturing, which offers the owner effective handling and firing. This XD-S Mod 2 comes with a nine-round magazine with an extended finger base to make a shooter's grip even more comfortable.
Not only is the XD-S Mod2 OSP a much improved concealed carry weapon, but it also comes with safety features you wouldn't expect from a handgun this small. While the bladed safety prevents the trigger from being pulled unless the blade is fully depressed, the XD-S Mod2 still won't fire unless the grip safety is fully disengaged with the palm of your hand. It also has a striker safety that blocks the striker channel travel. These three significant features prevent discharge should the handgun be accidentally dropped.
If you're in the market for a single stack 9mm that is comfortable to carry, accurate when firing, and ruggedly dependable, the XD-S Mod2 serves as an ideal option.

I liked the Sig 365 SAS but it's still a bit small in frame, same with Springfield Hellcat but no "Anti-snag" variant in their future so went with this XDS and it's proving itself to be a great carry pistol. The Crimson Trace red dot is very clear and accurate. Both mags fit my hands well, had to search for one more mag but luckily found one.

Excellent choice for a carry pistol, perfect size, weight, capacity and features. I find the Hellcat nice, but too small for my hands, and the XD9 Subcompact is a bit too chunky, this is the happy medium. Once I sighted-in the red dot, it's a little nail-driver. I found another magazine online and made my own Kydex holster and I'm loving it!
