All you can ask for

by

This particular bolt release is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that looked a little more aesthetically pleasing than a plain catch and that's what I got. I was going to go with the seekins but I'm glad I went with this one. It matches quite nicely with all my other strike industries parts.11/10 would buy again along with all the other awsome parts strike industries makes.

Best bolt catch out there.

by

Not only does it excel as a bolt catch/release but the finish is also flawless. This will also will work great with a Norgon mag release.

Worked great

by

Like it better than the regular bolt catch. However I have had one break not why though.

Best bolt catch period

by

I love this part. I put it on my new patrol rifle I built. It's awesome. Makes reloads quicker & more positive. Also way easier to lock back bolt safe & empty. Good price. Gun runs perfectly. I have Aero upper & lower. No brainer upgrade. Plan on putting in my other ARs later.

Doesn't fit 308

I can see how this would be awesome, but the extra press surface on the bottom makes it so it will not rock the way it needs to in my 308 lower. I now need a new Bolt Catch.

The best and most purposeful upgrade for my AR9 build

by -

After finishing a higher end AR9 build the only thing not perfectly to my liking was the bolt catch. The MILSPEC bolt catch did work but not great. A pretty minor bump would cause it to release the BCG so an upgrade was in order. Not only is this bolt catch so much easier to manipulate, but it holds strong. Previously I have upgraded some builds with the Seekins bolt catch which is also great. I choose the Strike Industries this time because I wanted more surface area on the lower paddle and I could not be more pleased. This was the final piece to AR9 bliss.

SI for the win

Works just fine for what i need.

Ergonomic but...

by

On my recent build of a 10.5" AR pistol I thought I'd give this version of Strike's bolt catch a shot but this one has has been a struggle from the start. I have small-ish hands but you cannot release it at all! Between the 3x of uninstall, Dremeling, polish, install routine I was able to make this function as it should have right out of the package. Frustrating and disappointing for sure!
Bottom line: If you don't mind tinkering and gunsmithing products that should be "drop in ready," then great! If you want good to go out of the package, then STAY AWAY from this and get the other version. You'll be stoked.

Great bolt catch

Excellent product that works as it should. I like the design of the over sized surfaces. Strike Industries did well with this and Primary Arms has great prices and fast shipping.

Fits Great and Works Flawlessly

by -

I originally built my AR with a Daniel Defense lower parts kit. The bolt catch on that was too touchy. Just laying the rifle down with the ejection port up would release the bolt. I replaced it with this one and it works great. Not sure why others had to grind and blend on things to get it to fit. Mine fit perfectly and works flawlessly. If you use a Magpul BAD lever, you'll need to modify that to fit on this bolt catch.
