STRIKE INDUSTRIES FORWARD ASSIST - RED

First thing to do is throw the roll pin that comes with it into the trash. It's too big in diameter to fit and because it's a split pin instead of the preferred coil pin it will not collapse properly to fit the pin hole. Second is this is more of a "bling" item because it's extremely painful to the palm to actually use it unless you have gloves on (not that I ever really use my forward assists). I thought the red would be neat to build an AR that's a bit different than everything else but to be honest, I'm already tired of looking at the red after a short time with it (the color didn't affect my star rating since it is what I ordered). I wouldn't buy it again but, instead would use a standard mil-spec FA or if I was building a shelf queen, then I'd probably get the V7 FA.

Good quality, looks and works great. Ignore other review, Somebody had an out of spec upper. Also, if you're hitting your forward assist hard enough to hurt yourself, something else is wrong. It doesn't hurt at all under normal use. Even under authorative actuation, it doesn't hurt. Somebody needs to buy some gloves or start working with their hands a little bit.
Ehh. Looks cool.
The color is on point with the red charging handle and takedown pins I got from strikes.
Its lighter than the Standard Mil-spec.
The pawl had a slight edge on the part that makes contact with the pin, so when pushing in the forward assist it would hit the pin stop for sec and go in, making it seem like it clicks. Swapped at the pawl on a standard F-assist that was curved in that same area and the problem went away.
Also not sure if the Aluminum can withstand harsh constant manipulation if needed.
