Decent kit for the price
by Luke -
The only negatives I have about this kit involves the buffer tube. I tried 2 different stocks, both felt wobbly when extended and I couldn't get either to fully collapse. Turns out it was due to the paint coating on the threading. I had to file it off in order to get the stock on. Now I can collapse my stock all the way but the tube is blemished.

Product seemed fine to me, not sure what everyone is complaining about unless they changed some things recently. For this price, you can't beat it but you get what you pay for. I wouldn't install this on a high end build but for a cheap build I don't see anything wrong with it
Not the best, but adequate

For what I paid and the parts I'm using I'm happy. I am building an AR9, and intend on using a JP custom tuned buffer system and a Phase 5 Endplate with a QD mount, so the only parts I'm using are the tube and castle nut. With those parts, I have no real complaints. The tube works perfectly fine on my FixTrot Mike lower, and the castle nut is doing its job, though it is very cheap. I can tell the finish on the tube will wear easily, but mine will be Duracoated anyway so I don't care. I thought I might replace the nut with a different one I have lying around, but it's already on there and Loctite secure, so I don't really need to. I will mention that I measured the spring against a MilSpec spring from another rifle and it is longer, so you may have to trim for reliability. The buffer seems fine, save for possibly having a weak coating as well. This definitely isn't the highest-quality buffer tube that I've ever used, but for the price I didn't expect anything more.
Don’t waste your money
Castle nut was was out of spec, cheap soft aluminum and the end plate was warped. Ended up replacing from a different vender. In the long run I spent a little more.
Don’t buy it!!!

Very disappointed in the quality. Purchased 2. Even for the price it was junk!!! Had to swap out with a better quality brand.
Great for budget builds

I've now used the Tiger Rock kit on 6 different builds for family and friends. Never had an issue with any of the kits. They all tightened up and fit properly on both the Anderson and the Aero Precision lowers that we used. The finish was starting to show some wear after about a year on the builds that are kept in short cases and have the stocks constantly being extended and collapsed.

I wouldn't recommend this and wouldn't buy it again, even for the $10 I paid for it on Black Friday, the tube feels super cheap and the tube was too long from the factory, I actually had to file it down so my upper would fit into my lower, I have built ARs before and I tried backing it out a turn first but it was too far out so I had to file it, if I wanted to fit my pieces I'd build a 1911.
Castle nut sucks
by Derek -
Castle nut is absolute garbage. An alumina can is made from harder metal than this thing.
Very sloppy fit
by Thomas -
The Castle nut was so loose and poorly fitting I chose to not use it for fear that it would strip the threads. Don’t know which was bad, the nut or the extension. I considered using Teflon tape but decided to just trash it.
great product specially as a backup kit.

i used this kit for parts, i did not use the spring but did use the buffer because it was heavier than the stock one i had. besides it working exactly as it should and for the price nothing even comes close.

Read the reviews and took a chance for a super budget build.
<br>Bottom line, you get what you pay for.
<br>Buffer tube prevented upper from closing when the bottom was far enough in to hold the buffer retainer pin. Ended up "fixing" the problem with a couple passes through a belt sander.
<br>The extra long spring was fixed with a dremel cut off wheel, map torch, and needle nose pliers.
<br>It works now though.
tiger rock 2 for price of 1
by Steven -
Took a chance for the price.....got 2, no problem with fit and finish. After about 50 rounds the buffer face is losing the anodizing.... not a big deal
Spring too long
Everything seems to be in spec except the spring, which is about 1-1.5" too long, causing short stroking. The buffer, buffer tube, castle nut, and end plate function well, however, and I just popped in a different carbine length spring.
works fine for me
by Vlad -
Everything fits and functions as is suppose to, I did not have any problems nor assembling the buffer tube nor at a range. It's not as "cool" as more pricey kits and does not have any logos on it, but hey, once you put on a buttstock and snapped a lower to an upped there is really no difference. So unless you are really into buying brand products and paying 5x more or want some custom color for your buffer tube this one will just work fine.
A fully functional and working Receiver extension kit
by Deadhorse -
My 2nd kit. This buffer tube kit is nothing to write home about, but it works 100% as intended for both 5.56 Ar's and for 7.62x39 Ar's, for the price its better then any kit you will get from a china seller, the spring is at least decent and isnt super loud and twangy, the castle nut and end plate are jsut standard milspec and thread and fit on as one would expect without being loose or wobbly, the tube is finished pretty dang well and i think is the best thing about this kit, its smooth inside and out with no machine marks, the anodizing is well done inside and out, and stocks like the MFT minimalist fit perfectly nice and tight on the tube, leave it to Primary Arms to offer a decent piece of kit at such a great price, will probably be buying more of these in the future.
Great buffer kit for great price!!!
by Eric -
Ordered kit and usual Primary Arms had it to me in 2 days! Kit looks amazing and everything fit perfect! However I didnt use the spring because I had a JP I wanted to use but the spring looked fine in kit. Ive tried diff buttstocks from magpul to stock m4 stocks and all fit tight with no wiggle. Castle nut and end plate looked and worked fantastic! It looked better then one I ordered seperately from a “quality” manufacturer. I highly recommend this kit for any build!! Thanks Primary Arms again!!
Good product except for castle nut.
by BWL -
Bought two and are using both. They work well with the guns. Only complaint is the end plate and castle nut are sub standard. The castle nut stripped a little on both guns. You can purchase better ones for a few bucks and still come out with a good buffer tube assembly for under $30.

Tube is worthless. Makes my Magpul stock have the wobbles.
Take note of spring length
by Nick -
For the price I don't think you can beat this kit. Everything aligns correctly and tightens how it should. However, the spring in the kit I purchased was between 1 1/2 - 2" to long causing the rifle to not cycle at all. Swapped out with a brand new one that was the correctly length and everything worked flawlessly.
Worth every penny

The fit and finish of the buffer tube has exceeded my expectations. Fit my Ruger lower perfectly. B5 systems stock installed effortlessly and fits snug with no rattle.
Didn't expect what I received
by David -
For the price my expectations were very low, upon receiving it I was very highly surprised.. Finish is great and quality is actually better then most of the "quality" brands. Fit was perfect also had the intention for buffer retainer... Also to my surprise the castle nut had spots to stake it down.. Very happy with the product
You get what you pay
by Juan -
Very poor fitment, when it comes to joining upper wont close. Like previously metioned when backed up to have upper close the bpttom lip on tube wouldnt hold buffer retainer properly. Makes my butt stock wiggle quite a bit. Would not recommend. This was just my experience
I've seen some of the bad reviews. This has not been my experience. Added a little oil onto the buffer tube & my MFT stock fit perfectly. The fit & function is both tight & smooth.
You get what you pay for.
by Chris -
Well I purchased a couple of these on sale.
<br>Turns out my mil spec Magpul MOE stock will slide right off the end of the extension.
<br>Further measurements indicate the diameter side to side is correct but the 6-position key is .050” shorter than my other US made receiver extension. Just enough to let the pin slide off the end.
<br>Would not recommend this product.
Budget product, Quality meets expectations.

I got this on a flash sale for $12 and didn't even bother reading reviews. Upon opening the products, there was no evidence that they were cheaply made. They installed just like they should and my Magpul MOE stock fits snuggly and operates fine. Thanks for saving me a significant amount of money on my build!
