These illuminated sights are designed to last. The Tritium-filled phosphorous lamps are guaranteed to last and are warranted for 12 years from the date of manufacture. The HD XR night sights are even more precise than the standard HD models for better accuracy at longer ranges. They also feature a wider u-notch rear sight that is blacked out and serrated to help draw your eye to the center front dot and maximize visibility. The 90° angle on the rear sight allows for one-handed weapon manipulation, so you can rack the slide on your belt if necessary.

Great all-around sights

Sights, like shoes, are very subjective. Subjectively, I think these are probably the best defensive pistol sights that you can get because they offer great performance in low light without blotting out small targets in bright light. It's a good compromise between visibility and precision, but you don't give much of either.
Objectively, they are easy to find in the dark because of the tritium dots. They are easy to find in daylight because of the fiber in the front.
Back to the subjective, I find that they are far more precise than other night sights, even on a short slide like my Glock 43. I have no trouble ringing smaller steel plates, even out past 25 yards. I have had mine for four years now and they remain excellent. For a defensive gun, I would not want anything else
