Troy Ambidextrous Bolt Release
by Tim Smith
Haven't tried this out yet, but for $20 I just couldn't pass it up. Troy makes good quality parts. As always PA is my go to supplier. Great service.
Superb service, speed, & no-nonsense
by Jason Chavez
Having had many transactions, back and forth, with PA, one thing has become very clear with this company; they are ALL about providing the best service, fast shipping, easy transactions, and the "above and beyond" approach. This latest purchase was no exception. Placed order, it arrived in 3 days. Had anything been wrong, I could have gotten a live person doing their best to make it right.
Must-have
by Forrest Swonsen
High quality product typical of Troy. Easily installed and works well. Typically I try to use the standard manual of arms and hit the bolt release paddle on the AR. However, I found when using a loop sling for stability (KD shoots, Appleseed, etc.) it was almost impossible to send the bolt home on a mag change without breaking your position. This device solves that issue
great bolt release
by CCothren
I am very pleased with this piece of kit. Works just as good as the EBAL and better than the magpul release. What you get is a slightly different version than what is pictured but is excellent. Highly recommend.
Great product AND sevice
by Rick
I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Super easy to install, works as expected. As usual, Primary Arms had this in my hands very quickly.
Solid As a Rock
by Hal Bass
I have 3 different Bolt Releases on our M4s and the Troy is as solid as they come and was the easiest to install. All were easy but the Troy just mated perfectly and there is no need to move it when removing the hammer pin.I like Troy products a lot. I wish I had found this one sooner.
Troy Ambi bolt release
by Joshua Yee
I have a Magpul BAD on one of my rifles and the Troy on my other. After using the BAD for years, I can say that the Troy is a superior ambidextrous bolt release. It has less wiggle than the BAD because of a second screw that tightens it to the bolt release paddle and the construction is sturdy and smooth. Used it for the first time in a rifle class where I fired 600 rounds in 4 days and it made it vastly easier to perform reloads and clear malfunctions. Get this lever! As usual, Primary Arms had great service and prompt shipping.
Better than MP BL
by W Blanchard
I have both the Magpul and this Troy, as well as the Phase 5 (standard, not EBR),but in my opinion, this one is the better of the three. This had a better feel to it. It is a little thicker and also gives clearance to the ambi mag catches where the others don't.I got a better price on this than the MP as well. This was $25 vs $28, not a huge difference, but makes a larger difference when I ordered more than one. It's a well made product and if you're looking to buy one of these extended bolt catches, I would recommend this over the others.
Great
by Robert Luckhart
I think these make clearing your weapon and malfunctions much easier, especially when having to lock the bolt back during double feeds. I still slap the paddle with my support hand to return to battery, but the lever adds some more space to hit. I've used both this and the Magpul BAD lever on various rifles, and the Troy one seems much sturdier, as well as having more surface area for your trigger finger to hit to hold the bolt back (or release it) without being obtrusive. It may not be for everyone, but I honestly think it does make manipulation easier.
I'd go with the BAD lever
by Brian
Overall it is nice. I am not a fan of the way ti attaches to the Bolt release. It does not lock as solid rotational-ly for/aft as the BAD lever does. As the lower portion of the lever can rotate forward and bind with the trigger guard. They obviously work the same functionally. But having the lever slip forward can bind things up. Based on that I will not be using the Troy anymore.
