Great quality without breaking the bank
by Vicente Soriano
Really nice bought 2, they pass my expectations by far, great quality, they fit 3 diferent lowers with no issue can way to take the to the range. And the service and shipping the best. Thanks primary arms
Arrived fairly quickly. Heard lots of rattling when I picked up the package. Opened box to find the handguard had not been installed or had come off during shipping. After a few turns of an allen wrench handguard was on. Only the tiniest gap between the handguard and upper reciever now. Not sure if that is normal or i just couldn't get it tight enough. Have not shot yet but am confident it will do great. Overall happy and will continue to buy from PA.
Haven't shot it yet, but noticed there is a blem near the rear receiver pin, don't know if this was supposed to be a blem.
Please with this purchase
Good price with iron sights handguard cool-looking flash hider and bolt carrier group/charging handle. BCG is semi-auto AR15 as noted below but it is chrome-lined which was nice. It mated well with a Spikes lower and a standard LPK. Gun looks beautiful. Put 60 rounds through it today at the range with zero issues. Would recommend without reservation!
Troy Upper W/ BCG
Finish of this upper is beautiful. Matched it up with a Spike's Lower and PSA LPK. The finish on the Troy is a little darker than Spike's in a good way. BCG in standard nothing ground breaking but gets the job done. M-Lok rail is small diameter and fits the micro gas block well. Light weight compared to my standard M4. The value here is pretty un matched in the market. The M-Lok and Troy sights alone would run almost $400. For a $100 more you get a BCG handle and 1/7 barrel with a very nice flash hider. Will buy another in FDE for my future Umbrella lower.
Reliable and accurate
I purchased this upper to complete a build. Very happy with the fit and finish and performance of this product. The anodizing and melonite barrel are very well done. I have 500 rounds through this upper with zero malfs. It is a tack driver as well. Sighting it in with the irons i was consistantly shooting 3/4" 5 shot groups at 50 yards. And thats using basic federal XM193. Im sure with some 69-77 grain stuff it would get even better. Overall in my experience this is the best upper available for the price on the market that ive seen. Highly recommended.
Great Complete Upper
Bought this upper to put on a lower I machined. Excellent upper nice fit and finish. I took the complete setup to the range and was hitting the bullseye at 100 yards without having to adjust the sights. The flip sights are well made and repeat consistently. This is my first Troy product and I'm really impressed. Also my first time purchasing at Primary Arms. I ordered online and drove over to Primary Arms 20 minutes later and it was ready for pick up. Look forward to doing more business at Primary Arms and will not hesitate to buy Troy products again in the future.
Excellent. Troy makes top of the line products. Dont hesitate
This upper functions flawlessly. The sights out of the box were dead on and are build rugged. They aren't spring loaded flip ups so you do have to manually flip them up. The fit and finish of the product are fantastic. Standard charging handle. The BCG is a semi-auto profile but it is chrome lined in the carrier and gas key. The BCG is 8620 steel and the bolt is 9310. The barrel is 4150 chrome moly and is melonite treated (arguably better than chrome lining). The upper is standard milspec mine was made by cerro forge. Probably the main feature you'd be wondering about is the rail. The rail has an excellent fit and finish and it feels absolutely wonderful in the hand. Troy sells this rail by itself for around $200 and it is well worth it. So do yourself a favor and purchase this. Troy makes upper tier quality stuff and is all around a great value.
The quality is superb on this upper.Worth every penny.
wow what a great upper for the price. it comes as advertised with everything just add your lower and GO. i bought this upper for a build and it was awesome i took it to the range and shot it and had no issues and the quality is great. I'll buy another one!!!!

This is a nice upper for the amount paid. It fits nicely with my Spikes lower and functions well. I have two complaints about this upper. My upper arrived with a deep scratch under the logo on the left side of the rail. I touched up the scratch and can live with it. This upper assembly is advertised as "Ready to go high quality Mil. Spec. Assembly". It is my understanding that in order to be Mil.Spec. the bolt assembly must be visual and MPI inspected. The advertisement clearly states that the bolt carrier is not MPI. I called Troy's Tech., and he stated they are batch inspected not individually inspected, hence the price point. Another comment he made was that MPI weakens the product. I did not wish to get into a discussion. If this makes a difference to you,you might wish to look at another product.

This upper receiver is excellent in fit and finish the barrel is very accurate I have shot literally every type of ammo and had zero malfunctions the bolt carrier group and the charging handle are generic but work with no problems the Troy battle sights are an added bonus this upper matches perfectly with my aero Precision x 15 lower ,highly recommend this upper for the value nothing can beat it.
Very good quality and value

I purchased this to go on top of an Anderson Lower I just completed building. I also tried it on my S&W lower. It fits and functions flawlessly on both. I took it out to the range, and it performed very well. I'm very impressed and happy with this upper. My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the BCG on these uppers are not HPT or MPI. I can't help but have a little concern over that and wonder how long it will last. Because of that, I'll probably buy a higher quality, HPT and MPI tested BCG in the near future, just in case. But having said that, I still believe that this upper is an excellent value and overall quality is definitely worth the $450+ range that it is in.

Also very happy with Primary Arms. I purchased a scope from them on a different order. This upper and the scope were both shipped quickly and extremely well packed. They also responded to an email of mine in a very timely manner. They have definitely earned my business and trust.

As stated in a previous review the upper is darker than my spikes lower but it’s not very noticeable. The uppers fits my lower nice and tight. I would definitely recommend it.
Troy quality without the Troy price tag
I saw the Troy name with the low price on sale and had to buy it. After taking it to the range, I was thoroughly impressed with it.
If you run this upper, I recommend a slightly heavier buffer (ST-T1 or H1) as I noticed harsher recoil and parts wear than usual for 62 grain 5.56 ammo. I prefer this because it will chew through any ammo you put through it.
A great buy!
