The Troy BattleMag is engineered to function flawlessly with all M4, M16/AR-15, HK416 and FN SCAR rifles and carbines. An aggressive scale pattern provides the ultimate magazine grip in dirty or wet conditions. A bolstered floor plate is set flush to eliminate the BattleMag from catching on other magazines or creating unnecessary bulk when stacked or pulled from a pouch. An extended floor plate lock is also included, which helps absorb shock when the magazine is dropped free during a reload. The reinforced feed lips and anti-tilt follower do not require a clamp to keep the feed lips from spreading when kept loaded for extended periods of time. Made from improved Troy proprietary military-grade, chemical, biological and impact resistant polymer and extensively tested by Special Ops units. Extra mags are always nice to have and you can't go wrong with a collection of Troy Battlemags.

Features:
  • Includes extended floor plate lock
  • Reinforced feed lips and anti-tilt follower
  • Durable impact resistant polymer with aggressive texture
  • Bolstered floor plate

We've been impressed

by -

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. We've been running these almost exclusively for 556 since around 2012; maybe longer. We have over 50 of these in rotation and have not had any magazine related failures to the best of my knowledge. I don't think we've had any magazines break either because we're still running mags from the original batch. They ran 300blk perfectly too when we used them for that. We've since switched to lancer for 300blk to avoid loading incorrect ammo. My favorite thing about the battlemags is how easy they stack and pull from punches. The ones we have hold 31 or 32 rounds if you cram them in, so with the appropriate 30 rounds they easily load with a closed bolt. Maybe they've changed things in the last year or two but the ones we have are great. Just thought I'd share our experience.

Used them on my 300 and worked just fine. Would def buy again. Shipping on this order was kind of slow, but not Primarys fault. Items ordered from Virginia but went to California before heading east.

No Issues good magazines

by -

I purchased 2 of these last November 2016 from PA and have been using them on and off for over a year now with no issues. I've kept them loaded for around 6 months and did not have any issues after that either. Overall they seem to be reliable and decently constructed. I haven't attempted to replace the base plate so I can't speak to that. I consider these good range mag's and stop short at calling them battle mags as there are plenty of other higher quality mags that I would consider for that. I have not had any failures with these magazines including bolt hold open. Great deal for the cost!

Decent mags

No problems with them in 3 different AR's..A little loose in the Spikes lower, but it doesn't effect function. They seem fairly durable, although made from a little thinner material than Magpul, but should hold up just fine for plinking and target practice. I didn't try replacing the bottom, so can't speak to that..Caught them on sale for six bucks, so I stocked up, and I'm happy with them..Will buy more if I catch them on sale again..If they're not on sale, I'd throw in a couple more bucks and get P-Mags.

Over 10 in use and zero issues.

Looks like all the negative reviews are from people who broke them switching base plates. I have switched them out on all of mine without ever breaking one, so it is 100% user error causing this. Great mags that work and are cheap right now.

Decent

These are decent mags for plinking and target..I've tried them in Spikes, Anderson, and Aero lowers with no problems...Catch them on sale for six bucks and they are well worth it...The "trick" to swapping out the floor is to very lightly secure the mag in a vice so that both your hands are free. Then using a punches, dowels, or whatever you have that will depress the tabs, GINGERLY push in on both tabs simultaneously. When the tabs are just inside the mag walls, lightly use the tools to push the floor upwards and out of the mag..Basically just work both side at the same time. Takes about 20 seconds.

Go to magazine

This is my go to magazine, runs in all my lowers without issue. Also works with 204 ruger cartridge for those shooters running a varmint rifle.

Great magazines at a great price.

I recently picked up 10 of these on sale here at PA. As usual shipping was fast. Functioned perfectly in 2 different guns with 3 different types of ammo. I have many different types of pmags, lancers, metal mags and others and these troy mags performed the exact same as all of the others. Will buy more when they are on sale again.

A Good Magazine...Not Great.

by -

Even though this mag looks and feels flimsier than a PMAG, it has run flawlessly through three ARs. I like the slim profile and grip texture when handling the mag. It also seats in the mag well w/out any issues. NOTE: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on how to remove/reinstall the plate. You could easily break off one or both of the retaining tabs. Overall, a good, reliable and cheaper alternative to a PMAG.

A Good Mag...But Not Great.

This mag looks and feels flimsier than a PMAG, but I assure you...it's very reliable. This mag has run FLAWLESSLY through three ARs. It's slim profile from top to bottom fits and seats inside the mag well w/out any issues. The grip texture feels good in the hand when handling it. NOTE: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before attempting to remove the bottom plate. If not careful, you could break off one or both retaining tabs. Overall, if you're looking for a good, reliable and cheaper PMAG alternative, these Battlemags are good.
