Note: For AKs that originally used gas tubes that do not have holes in them, such as the Romanian WASR-10. Will be slightly shorter than original gas tube, this is normal and will not effect function.
Fits:
- AK Variants with standard weight barrel and standard removable gas tube (roughly 7" in length, will vary slightly between rifles).
- With separate barrel shims, will fit 5.45x39 and 5.56 NATO caliber AKs. Minor fitment may be required.

This heavy duty mount replaces the original steel gas tube and upper handguard, so it adds less than one ounce to the weight of the rifle, making it by far the lightest optic mount installation for the Kalashnikov. The forward positioning of the optic gives you faster, easier and more natural targeting while maintaining your full field of view. Multiple target or moving target engagements, with both eyes open, become second nature. The UltiMAK AK optic mount rarely if ever needs to be removed to clean the rifle, so you need not worry about loss of zero. Since the mount is clamped to the barrel and not jammed in between the gas block and the sight block like the original gas tube, several UltiMAK users have reported an improvement in their AK's accuracy.

Solid platform and an attractive addition

I was a little unsure about how much room there is between the gas block and receiver when installing this one but UltiMAK clearly states this is intended. Once adjusted the mount is rock solid and allows for cowitness on your optic. Finish is matte and appears to be quality. I intend on a secondary review after range tests just to make sure the additional spacing will not be a factor.

Instructions could be a little better, but not bad overall though. Does exactly what I need it to do. Sturdy, well crafted materials used. Weapon fires great with it affixed and I'm now able to hit targets up to 200 yards with a front mounted optic. (Saiga AK 74, 5.45x39)

I've searched for and tried a couple of different mounts for my AKs, but didn't like the limited options for positioning my red dots. Primary Arms had the best price so I bought one for each of my AKs. Well constructed, simple instructions, easy to mount. Took about 20 minutes on my first gun, 15 on the second. Can't be beat!!. Solid mount with no movement, stays dead on after multiple trips to range. Does not loosen up or lose zero like the cover mounted rails. The best option if you like your sight forward on your rifle so you have better field of view while shooting. Great product, shipped fast by PA. Thanks!

Primary arms always has quick shipping and great prices.I did have some difficulty putting it on an Arsenal SLR 101. The barrel is a little thicker than standard so the ultimak rings had to be 'massaged' to fit.
