Great for shooting at varying ranges where estimating holdover is of concern. The SFP design that the reticle is located closer to the ocular lens and will change size depending on magnification setting and the BDC will only be accurate at the highest setting. This makes it a great option for hunting and long rang competition shooting where you will only be taking your shot with the magnification at the highest level.

This scope is a really nice value! It does everything as expected, and the optics are very good! I could not ask for better at this price.
Narrow range for eye relief
by Zen Spinner
I liked it for the clear glass and found that it holds zero well.
The one disappointment is regarding eye relief. In a run and gun situation, which is what a scout scope is supposed to be good for, this scope has a particularly narrow range of eye relief. I'll admit I have a long neck. My cheek weld changes between standing and kneeling and prone. This scope, when properly adjusted for standing, doesn't work well when I'm kneeling or prone and vise versa.
The Burris scout scope works way better for my purposes.
Good Quality

You can not go wrong with a Vortex, clear glass, quality made, plus a great warranty. I own several and have no complaints. This one is mounted on a 300 blk. out with a 16" barrel and it works great from 50 to 100 yrds. Can not wait to try it out a little further. Gave it a 4 star because their are several brands that are great alternatives and I do not know who best, but Vortex is my go to. Beside I got it at a good price at P/A.
