Finding good centerfire ammunition can be something of a pain. 9mmin particular is both one of the most popular rounds on the market, and also one of the ones where quality matters a lot. It can be a really cheap to shoot caliber which is a favorite for plinking, training, and self defense against a variety of targets. With that said, quality matters a lot. There’s nothing quite as disappointing as a cartridge that refuses to detonate. It’s also dangerous, as you can’t be quite sure if it’s a light primer strike, a dud, or something much worse like a squib load.

With that said, if you need quality 9mm ammunition, go with the Winchester Forged 9mm Luger 115 Grain Full Metal Jacket Box of 50. These are from the same manufacturer that is trusted by law enforcement agencies all over the country, as well as in the military training industry. These are 115 grain full metal jacket rounds that will make great training ammo and would certainly do the job for carry as well. To ensure quality, these are boxer primed and come in a steel case: quality manufacturing will make your range day much easier. In terms of velocity, these are pretty hot, advertised with 1140 feet per second at the muzzle with 348 foot pounds of muzzle energy. This makes them ideal for semi-automatic handguns that might not feed as well with hollow points. Overall the Winchester Forged 9mm Luger 115 Grain Full Metal Jacket Box of 50 are quality, affordable 9mm rounds that will do well at the range and would make decent carry ammo as well.

Not for me

by -

Some like it some don't. The 26 and 19 were fine with it the 17 not so much. I also noticed that the rounds seemed lethargic when shooting the ar500 reactive hostage target failing to fully swing the reaction targets. I don't usually purchase steel case ammo and honestly this was a mistake I failed to notice the steel case. Not that the steel case had anything to do with the weak loads. In any event I will use it up and move on.
