Aero Precision AR-308 Charging Handle

Standard Mil-Spec handle, but works as it should nice and durable being made out of 7075-T6 Aluminum instead of the cheaper stuff. Aero has some of the best value for your money 5 out of 5!

Aero Charging handle is 7075 aluminum. Don't trust your life nor your hunt on a 6061 handle to fail at the wrong time. Aero makes a lot of quality products and this charging handle is a home run at a great price.

My original charging handle in my AR stoner 308 upper got stuck one day in the middle of a string, at first I didn't know what happened, tried to clear my stovepipe, charging handle won't move, rolle pin worked out jamming the charging handle in place enough on that fixed issue. Decided to order a new one use other for backup. Got the new AERO Precision 308 charging handle, just arrived today, fast service as usual, installed tested, works slicker than Snot off a doorknob, better and smoother than original and I have the confidence in AERO Precision parts that the role pin won't work out of position. PS : also purchased an AERO Precision stripped lower M5 to mount the AR- stoner upper on, now have a very reliable reasonably priced LR 308 . Love AERO Precision parts.

Built a new 6.5 creedmoor using an Aero M5 lower and upper, and thought ising the Aero charging handle would be optimal. Plus, Im not spending crazy money for whats clearly the among the simplest and least expensive part to manufacture.
Needed to Dremel and file the thing to work optimally, but okay, no biggee. Would have preferred an ambi version of it, but wasnt available.

Pretty disappointed. This was not milled properly. Had pretty large, sharp burrs on the bottom and the the whole bottom edge was not straight and flat. I didn't notice at first because it was all anodised over. After filing down the burrs and planing the bottom edge to make it flat and straight it works now, but all of the anodizing is gone from a significant portion. This was a budget build, but I'll probably be looking for a nicer one to replace this now.

Just an FYI, there are 2 different DPMS size charging handles to my knowledge, the newer GII 7.62x51 DPMS rifles require a shorter charging handle, one comes with the rifle of course, however it IS shorter than the NON-GII models.
More importantly if you like to change your charging handle out with something stronger, there is only one company that makes an aftermarket handle, and I have no experience with it. if I recall it is "PI industries" or something like that. The VILTOR (or bcm-same thing) unfortunately will not work.
