The Aero Precision Heavy Buffer weighs 4 ounces and is designed for carbine length buffer tubes and gas systems. This heavy carbine buffer slows the bolt down allowing for more reliable extraction as well as reduced bolt bounce and felt recoil. However, it is important to choose a weight for your specific build. A too heavy buffer can increase reliability issues. The Heavy buffer is commonly used with mid-length gas systems with full power ammo.
