The gas key has been staked, preventing it from coming loose over time and the bolt face has been shot peened to improve durability. Shot peening is the process of literally deforming the smooth surface in order to create more surface area and relieve stress to reduce the number of micro cracks from forming after many years of use.

Best Bang For The Buck

I purchased one of these about 2 years ago for a build. Since then it's been utilized on a 12.5" mid-length upper almost exclusively suppressed. The suppressor is an older high back pressure can and I'm over 3000 rounds and it's been through multiple classes with another one at the end of June. It's been a work horse and I haven't had a single issue with it. Staking is done well, bolts have not backed out and maintained its torque, gas rings are good and the bolt is marked HPT/MPI. Definitely worth the buy.
