Details

Eliminate bulk on your new M5 .308 build with the Gen 2 16.6" enhanced M-LOK handguard from Aero Precision. These lightweight 16.6" handguards feature 6061-T6 aluminum construction with a one-piece free float design and M-LOK slots for adding your favorite accessories. The enhanced models are machined to mil-spec dimensions and come standard with built-in anti-rotation tabs and scalloped rails. The 2nd generation model includes upgrades like QD sling sockets at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, milling along the flats for visual appeal and improved grip, and a new profile for the continuous Picatinny rail. These enhanced handguards reduce bulk while providing strength and stability and are ready to attach to an enhanced upper.

Excellent feel and strength with m5e1 upper.

The enhanced handguard goes with enhanced upper. Or you can use a BAR barrel nut I understand but I will never do this. I love the m5e1 enhanced upper that this goes with. The handhard bolts on the the enhanced upper. The barrel not comes with the m5e1 upper and cones with the wrench. Of corse there is no barrel nut with this handguard. The barrel nut goes on the m5e1 upper called the enhanced upper. This is obvious. Other people use the BAR system which in which the handgaued attaches to the barrel nut when you use a milspec threaded upper but personally I prefer the m5e1 enhanced upper.

I have several of these and they are great

I installed this handguard on a 300 WSM AR10 with an KAK upper and and Aero lower assembled by me. I did have to relieve the upper end to clearance the KAK upper as the upper is a heavy duty magnum design. I did not have to remove very much material. And it came out fantastic. I am using a 24" long x .875" DeadShot Barrels barrel with a Lilja .875" Heartbreaker muzzle brake. This handguard fits well, covers the gas block with plenty of clearance and is sturdy enough to handle this configuration. I have another one on a 24" 22-250 which has an Aero upper and needed no fitting to assemble it onto the upper.

This handguard does not include the barrel nut. Don't buy it if you aren't buying the proprietary receiver.
