Get your 308 Winchester AR build off to the right start with these Aero Precision M5E1 18 inch 308 Upper Receiver. Because there's no industry standard for 308 AR-pattern rifles, home builds can get problematic quickly, as you have to take time to make sure all your parts are compatible. With this assembled 308 AR upper from Aero Precision, you can shortcut that entire process. This upper receiver includes everything you need except the bolt carrier group and charging handle. The receiver is forged 7075 T6 aluminum that's been machined to Aero's specifications. The M5E1 308 upper is designed to be compatible with common DPMS pattern 308 Winchester AR components, which are readily available. With an 18 inch 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel barrel and a rifle length gas system, the Aero M5E1 308 upper balances recoil control and long range accuracy.

Along with the upper receiver, the M5E1 comes with a 15 inch M-LOK railed handguard. The handguard is machined out of 6061-T6 Aluminum for maximum durability. The Picatinny rail runs the entire length of the top of the handguard, giving the shooter ample space for mounting sights, lights, and other accessories. The 1.8 inch inner diameter of the handguard provides enough clearance for suppressors with an 1.5 inch external diameter. This rail is a single piece of aluminum, making it completely free float, helping enhance the rifle's accuracy.
