The Anderson 16'' 5.56 NATO AR-15 Barrel is machined from 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a black nitride finish and a government contour, reducing weight where it matters for a balanced build. Capable of chambering 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington, this barrel’s 1:7 twist rate is ideal for a wide variety of different grain weight projectiles. Anderson Manufacturing’s 16” AR-15 barrel features a mid-length sized gas system that will help provide a smooth shooting rifle upon completion of the build.

Decent quality, dimple was off center

Purchased this barrel for a budget build for a family member. Overall the barrel seems decently well made for the money. External finish was scuffed from the box, but no gouges or damage. Had no issues with accuracy. However, while I appreciate that they pre-dimpled the barrel for installing a gas block, the dimple was off center resulting in the rifle being undergassed when assembled. I had to run the rifle like a bolt action on range day. If they weren't going to do the dimple right, if have preferred they didn't do it at all. Submitted an RMA for a replacement.

Nicer than expected

After watching a video review on YouTube, it was clear this barrel was a very good deal. I was not disappointed. Even the finish on it is very nice. Nicer than any of my other barrels. This barrel for only 65$, you'd have to be insane not to grab one of these for your build.

It can shine

Bought one a few months back and buying another.
Before install I did a lil extra polish inside the chamber and feed ramps. Thermo fit with some 620 on the barrel into an Anderson upper that I ran the bore/concentricity tool on and got the face evened out on the receiver. 1.6” group 5 shot@100yrds with PMC 62g m855 green tip. Feeds great, only at 400+ but not one issue. Using a Cryptic bcg, white sprinco spring and a H1 buffer. Shoots flat even with a stupid A2 flash hider lmao.
So I’m buying another, maybe 2 at this price! You can make this barrel shine.
BTW this barrel lasted longer in a burn down than a DD did.
