Additionally, a raised lip machined into the top of the handle helps to mitigate gases directed rearward. Anodized with a MIL-SPEC Type III Class 2 hardcoat in matte black. Compatible with MIL-SPEC AR-15 direct impingement weapon systems.

Eh not too impressed

After using raptor charging handles for a while I decided to give one of these a try, really wish I didn’t. After racking the handle just a few times the finish came off one side and the top and now looks horrible, almost like I’ve had it for 2 years. Doesn’t feel bad when pulling it back by any means but the finish wears off very easily

This handle is good to go. Large latch model is only slightly bigger than the older, medium model BCM charge handle. The mechanism seems sturdier as well.

Very happy with the item, everything I was looking for. I have large hands (XL gloves are too small) and the standard milspec charging handles are hard to get a solid grip on. That is no longer a problem. It's easy to grab with my pinky finger, palm up or my thumb and index finger, palm down. It's also much easier to emergency operate one handed on different items, belt, pants pockets, between buttons on your shirt, etc. It also feels like it operates much smoother than the standard handle. The change in design for the pressure to be redistributed from the old roll pin seems very noticeable, it feels very solid when charging.
Get the large latch

Get this large latch!!!!! I have both the older and newer BCM charging handles. This newer large latch version is the same size as the old medium size version. I had bought a newer medium version, and its basically the same size as the standard charging handle. Buy this large latch.

I used one of these on a build and after using it i realized how much i liked it and purchased another for a different rifle. Function is very smooth and the finish is very nice and durable. Its hard to beat the value of bcm parts and this is no exception. Primary arms has the best processing and shipping that ive ever experienced and they are my first choice of merchants.
Best charging handle out there

This is now my 4th charging handle from BCM. The large latch is my personal favorite and on all my ARs. Never any issues, works perfectly. Best charging handle I’ve used.

I have 7 and put these on the AR’s I build. The “shelf” on the charging handle where it sits in the back of the upper receiver does stop a lot of gas/oil coming back in your face. These and Radian’s handles are the best. Large has 3/8 in surface area and med is 1/2 in.

When I first started my builds I never realized how important the charging handel was. I thought it wasn't a very integral part of the operation. Wow, was I wrong, YOUR DARN RIGHT IT IS. In my research of finding something somewhat better and less costly I decided to buy a B C M knowing nothing about small latches, medium or large.keep in mind at that time every wasn't that expensive so I ordered my first BCM charging handle and never looked back
