Heavy

by -

In my opinion, the barrel is extremely heavy for a 22LR. I got a comp for it just to play around with, but the weight of it deems a comp pointless, just threw a flash hider on it instead. I'm sure there is a reason for it being so heavy, maybe heat dissipation? I'm happy with it either way, just needed to adjust the muzzle device selection. Fits nice under a 12-13" MI free float handguard. PA says 16" CMMG says 17" either way I don't think I would have put a 15" handguard on it, and I'm glad I didn't.

it's 17", not 16"

One star because PA has this mislabeled. It's a 17" barrel, says so right on the label. PA paid to have it returned. Heads up the 'medium' profile is pretty heavy, I'd recommend their GI profile over this (and it's true 16")

Great Bang for the Buck!

First off the barrel is 17". I bought 2. I replaced a 16" that had a 15" hand guard that was too long. I considered going to a 13.5 before I got these. Its perfect for a 15"! The other rifle had a 13.5" already on it and it looks good also. I took them to the range. On shot perfect with no malfunctions. At 50yds I got 5 shots in the area of a quarter. I ran several ammos through them and CCI Blazer 40gr along with Remington 36gr golden HP ran the best and the Remington grouped within an inch even at 100yds. One of the barrels had a problem with fail to feed. While it was accurate, the chamfer on that barrel was all on one side with none on the feed ramp side. I quit firing that gun due to FTF every 3 bullets. Once I cleaned up the chamber end of the barrel with a Dremel and tested it without any problems. I can say that these barrels were better in the accuracy department than the ones they replaced which were also more bullet dependent. Get them while you can!
