Expo Arms X Mega Arms AR-15 Forged Stripped Upper Receiver

Expo has really impressed me. Haven't heard of them before i ordered my recievers, and had just found this upper while browsing one day. I needed one to match my Expo arms lower so I ordered it.
The fitment with the is extremely tight with no gaps or slop between the upper and lower. The fitment for the barrel is extremely tight as well. The anodization is very thick and looks very good.
It's made by Mega so you can't go wrong ordering this. It matches perfect with a SOLGW lower receiver too. Order it, you won't be disappointed.

Today is Saturday February 25th, 2023 and I just received my new Expo Arms X Mega Arms upper receiver. The receiver is not a "blem" and was not purchased at a discounted price. I was eager to receive the part because it was to be the final part of my build and I was planning on hitting the range today. Unfortunately, the item I received appears to have been scratched at several points. I don't know if this was a returned item or if it's due to careless handling from the manufacturer.
The finish is missing/damaged at the brass deflection ramp, on the interior of the receiver (where the bcg gets inserted) and at the forward assist port. The imperfections are not detrimental to the function of the receiver, however, I do expect to receive an undamaged/unblemished product any time I purchase a new item from Primary Arms.

These are the best uppers I have! The fitment and the finish is awesome and the lower to match is just as great, I have several of the lowers too. This is my go to set. It was aero enhanced but these you don’t need to adjust the tension screw so putting different uppers and lowers together is never an issue, and I don’t need to adjust a tension screw to fit it right to another upper like aero. (I love the aero ones too so no hate)
But this is the same that Zev and rainier arms ( plus some of the non-billet SOLGW ) use for their Milspec. I have them and they are identical. Other than badges. Get this and the lower and you will be set for a thick black beautiful finish that fits tight,

Identical to SOLGW or MEGA uppers. Fantastic in every regard…finish, machining, figment, overall quality is as good as it gets for a forged upper. Catch them on sale for around $100 and it’s a no brainer. Even at full price you’re getting a discounted SOLGW upper and not paying the ridiculous markup. PA and Expo aren’t fooling around. They’re bringing the best quality for very reasonable prices.

I purchased three of these NEW Expo/Mega uppers on sale. The three I received were nicely machined but had BLEMISHES of varying degrees. The worst looked like it was dropped onto concrete from at least 3 feet, creating a 1/4" dent with loss of anodizing at the rear curve above the takedown lug. It doesn't affect function so I'll probably just apply some Aluma Black. All three fit tight with SOLGW lowers. Two are what I would consider thermal fit; the other was a snug fit with a Sionics 16" barrel. These are about on par with BCM BLEM uppers and are better than REDACTED ZEV uppers (those are a major disappointment). I'd get them again at the sale price I paid if I were looking for that tighter upper-lower fit. Otherwise, BCM BLEM uppers are currently the best value around with the small parts included.

This or BCM. Both thermo-fit which removes the need for shimming if you're that obsessive... MAYBE could benefit from a lap but I only do that to my Grendels or 16" 556 builds.

This upper plus the Expo x Mega lower is such a sleeper monster of a starting point. I've only ever had eyes for forged parts and this is as good as it gets for me. Finish is top-notch- it even FEELS different. No ragrets. Not even a letter.

Nice finish. Nice tight fit with Expo, SOLGW, Mega, & LaRue lowers, maybe bordering on “too tight”.

Finish doesn’t match my ban era Bushmaster, & Armalite, nor old Colt 6920, but takes a lot of “slop” out of the upper/lower fit.

Solid uppers with good tolerances. Barrel is thermal-fit, and no UPK is included. Well worth the price IMO.
