Unlike other add-on ambi controls, the EMR-A was designed from the ground up to function perfectly with Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receivers without any permanent modification needed. This ambi mag release directly mirrors the right side magazine release improving ergonomics and even features their multi-faceted control surface (MCS) that follows the contours of your finger for a more tactile feel. The magazine button itself is also low profile to not interfere with the bolt catch and comes with an extra power spring to prevent accidental activation.
