The Perfect Hiking Rifle!

by

I wanted to make a rifle like my Sig Spear but lighter, thinner, and more compact so I can stuff it in my hiking bag. Yet I wanted there to be plenty of room to carry all my other essentials and 2-3 extra mags.

Let me tell you how perfectly the FM15(13.9” Primary Arms) fit all of those requirements!

First of all, it weighs so much less than my Sig Spear or any of my ARs in this caliber or length. It is so slim compared to any of my rifles. And finally, the weight of the rifle is quite shocking when you initially pick it up. I love stuffing it in my North Face bag. Whenever I need it, I can quickly retrieve it and fire(with the stock folded or not). All of my friends are envious of my build so 5/6 of them decided to order this upper.

I highly recommend this upper or rifle as a while. It has been very reliable for me(1200 rounds so far).

Cool fun gun, but wouldn't rely on it

For the price, its a great for plinking. Had more in-depth review but hit 1k character limit.
Pros
-The barrel is good enough, gotten ~2" moa w/ m193/m855.
-Brake is Keymo if you got Deadair and it does a good job of causing overpressure
-Install of the bolt stop for the buffer tube was easy
-Can fire folded (why I wanted to try it)
Cons:
-All proprietary, have to call FM for parts
-The charging handle sucks, you will at least cheese grate your hand once when doing remedial for stoppages.
-The bolt can get stuck beyond the bolt stop and requires additional charge to unstick.
-Steel case is not recommended but mfg says you can shoot it after about "300" round break-in period. FTE happened almost every other round. It does "work" after break-in and it was ~300rds.
-Doing remedial for stoppages suck without a bad lever.
-The springs seem like they have issues when the gun gets dirty and bolt needs liberal amount of lube to continue. Fired about 500rds w/o cleaning and it did not like it.

Great upper

Ran this upper in a carbine class today, ~600 rounds suppressed without a hiccup. Solid product with great customer service.
