For any long-distance hunter or competitor, determining the exact ballistics and proper environment adjustments often requires a few mathematical computations before the match or hunting trip. Many hunters and competitive rifle owners will frequently refer to a reference guide they've put together full of MOA settings, windage, elevation, and range adjustments needed to dial up before taking the shot. With a Kestrel 5700 Elite Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics, you can toss that dog-eared reference guide you put together in a drawer and forget it.

This meter works well with a range finder such as a Bushnell Elite 1 Mile CONX. The Kestrel 5700 Elite provides the same dependable service as many other applications for ballistics and weather. However, the Kestrel Elite is the most popular for ballistic applications because of the compass and crosswind functions it offers. All of the 5000 Kestrel series meters feature a bright green backlight, a night-vision setting, and white background lighting to accommodate most of the lighting conditions you may experience. The Kestrel 5700 combines sophisticated sensing features and long-range ballistics information in a single-hand device. With the Kestrel Elite, you get the Litz library of G1 and G7 ballistic coefficients, custom drag curve modeling, and ballistic calibration or truing that helps train the Kestrel's solver feature based on actual bullet impact.

Additionally, with the Kestrel 5700 Elite and PC loader software, you can build unique firearm profiles on your computer and then load these profiles into the Kestrel 5700 by either a Bluetooth connection or a Kestrel USB cable. Kestrel packs several features into the 5700 Elite that improve the operational functionality of this weather meter that often goes unnoticed, such as the location of the power source. Previous versions of the Kestrel Weather Meter suffered system-board melt-down due to a leaky battery housed in an adjacent fashion. On the Kestrel 5700 Elite, the battery is mounted in the back away from the motherboard, and potential damage should a leak happen. Navigation of the screen gives you an intuitive user interface, and the 5700 Elite also features multiple languages: English, French, German and Spanish. If you've gone to great lengths to improve your rifle to make precise and consistent long-range shots, one part of your gear you'll want to include to make those upgrades worth it is a Kestrel 5700 Elite Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics.
