The Sand Cutter BCG is best utilized in conjunction with a suppressor as it will help to keep the increased blowback that can occur when firing suppressed. When compared to firing the weapon non suppressed, increased debris can accumulate and potentially decrease accuracy or rate of fire. This BCG helps functional use during times when heavier unburnt powder and carbon can accumulate. The tight lock-up around the gas rings which prevents leaking gas and the lack of excess movement of the overhead cam pin will prolong the life and increase the reliability of and AR-15 or SR-15/16. The machined grooves on the carrier body act as debris channels to maintain performance. While this BCG is capable of good performance under austere conditions, any carrier group should be maintained through regular cleanings.
