When operating in low or no light conditions, the L3 AN/PVS-14 offers a more realistic black and white sight picture with added contrast and detail for shapes and shadows. This gives the operator the visual information necessary to quickly assess and acquire the target. The improved white phosphor night vision monocular offers various shades of intensity between black and white far better than black and green. The result of the white phosphor tube is better contrast and accurate depth perception. Each AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular comes with a demist shield and eye guard, offering an eye relief of an inch, and can be helmet mounted or attached to a Picatinny rail for tactical nighttime rifle operation.
