Midwest Industries Tactical Light Mount

Details
The Midwest Industries Tactical Light Mount is a clever solution to adding a weapon light to standard M4/M-16/AR-15 pattern rifles with a fixed front sight post when M-LOK or Picatinny rails aren't an option. The FSP light mount is machined from high-strength and durable aluminum. This handy mount can be installed with a single screw in less than a minute. Once installed, a pair of M1913 Picatinny spec rails are secured on each side of the front sight post, allowing your favorite weapon lights to be installed. Each rail also features a pair of rotation limited quick detach sling swivel sockets, giving you a convenient sling mount as well.
Features:
- Easy one-screw installation
- Ambidextrous rails
- Integrated rotation limited QD sling sockets
- Tapered design for exceptionally rigid mounting
- Compatible with standard AR front sight posts
- Lightweight, just 2.1 oz
The standard AR-15 with polymer handguard and fixed front sight gas block is probably the best-known configuration of the world-famous platform. While this setup is aesthetically pleasing and handy, it is very difficult to mount weapon lights, lasers, grips, and other accessories without completely replacing the handguards. This FSP light mount from Midwest Industries is a rock-solid solution to this problem. The tapered and angled cuts on the back side of the mount lock into the front sight post to make a rock-solid base for lights and lasers. Add in the integrated QD sockets and the Midwest Industries Tactical Light Mount is just what your AR needs.

I love this thing!

I wanted to get a light on my AR carbine and I almost bought a high end rail system until I found this product. I like that it also eliminates the shadow of the barrel in the beam of the light that can happen with a handguard mounted light. It will make your front end heavy however if you do not have a light weight flashlight. I will be getting a different stock soon so we shall see how well that will balance things out. Update 12/16/14 So I got back from the range and after using it for range use the screw holding the two pieces together and I am going to use some blue loctite 242 to see if that would work. I believe another reviewer had mentioned this so I kind of expected it. Also I think this throws off your barrel harmonics because when I started shooting the 50 yard zero on my Comp M4 had gone to the right (not by a small margin either it was about 6 inches) so before using this in a defensive situation get out to the range and check your zero!
Excellent accessory, however

This is an excellent replacement for my old 4 slot Promag one and with free and fast shipping you cannot go wrong, however the picture shows a 4 slot model, but I got a 3 slot model with a QD pushbutton recepticle. Does not work with my Surefire M951 that needs 4 slots, but I can still use my Surefire 660 classic with it as it only uses 1 slot.
Bolted right on...

Great way to put a light on your rifle and keep from having to add a railed fore-end. Add the fast shipping and great price, PA is getting more and more of my business.
So far, very good.

Arrived early. Installs in seconds. Fit perfectly. The bases are beveled, so they sit vertical though the front sight post is wider at bottom than the top. It also came with an Allen key, which was nice.
Just the thing

Fits the FSP perfectly. Screws hold fast, but I'll still add some Loctite. Glad to have it.
Great
