The 590M is Mossberg’s way of taking a time-tested design and improving it even more. Built off the standard 590 receiver, this model has a detachable 10 round box magazine for faster reloading/unloading, increased capacity without extra magazine tube length, and easy transitioning between various type of 12 gauge shotgun ammo. The magazines are designed specifically to work with the 590 receiver by incorporating stabilizing ribs that securely lock the magazine into the receiver. The center of gravity is right above a fully loaded magazine so it makes balancing the shotgun easy for improved accuracy. This design incorporates all the popular features of the 590 and adds a magazine for enhanced versatility in tactical and competitive applications.

Like most of Mossberg’s other options, the 590M features dual extractors and twin action bars for a smooth, reliable pump action with positive steel-to-steel lockup. But the magazine is where this model shines. It has hardened steel feed lips that won’t break or bend after long term use and an overmolded steel feed ramp for added reliability when chambering a round. The body of the magazine is made of a self-lubricating polymer and has a removeable floor plate to make cleaning and maintenance easy. The magazine spring is made from heavy duty music wire that will keep the shells pressed tightly against the magazine lips for increased reliability when feeding. Mossberg also makes magazines with 5, 15, and 20 round capacities.

The 590M comes in a synthetic black stock and a matte blued finish on the barrel to decrease reflection. It has a safety selector on the rear of the receiver that can be manipulated easily with your right or left hand. The bead front sight is great for fast target acquisition whether it be for home defense or clay shooting.
