Released in 1997, the Native has been one of the top-selling knives in the Spyderco product list. Redeveloped and now in its fifth generation, the Native 5 has been made to pull together the best of itself. Made from CPM S35VN particle metallurgy stainless steel, this blade guarantees balance, high-quality edge retention, and unmatched cutting performance. This knife includes Spyderco’s trademarked Round Hole for a smooth, ambidextrous open and fumble-free design, and the thumb-slot opener gives the user easy one-handed opening. The full-flat grind combines with a plain cutting edge, making it an ideal combination of cutting performance, utility, and edge geometry. The spear point tip and distal taper flow into the edge that extends the entire length of the blade without the inclusion of an index-finger choil, which adds to overall performance by maximizing cutting edge and follow-through at the heel of the blade, which offers a distinctive appearance and a refined back lock mechanism that elevates this knife to the top of the line in both engineering and manufacturing. The skeletonized steel liners are tucked into the textured fiber reinforced nylon handle and add both rigidity and strength without adding unnecessary material. This knife comes with a three-screw pocket clip that is easily adjustable for ambidextrous carry, tip-up or tip-down. A lanyard hole is also included for additional versatile carry options.
