Install is rough
by Ryan -
This handguard looks great, but beware of purchasing if you do not have the means to remove the rear sight block from your AK to install the handguard. I had to use an angle grinder to remove mine.
The gas tube provided is half the size of the OEM tube, and may have alignment issues if your front sight post lies lower than the top of the handguard where the gas tube starts.
This handguard also requires the dog-leg dust cover to stay rigid and will not work without it. The dog leg pins into the rear of the handguard making the dust cover hinged like it is on a normal install.
I also want to throw in that this piece of furniture gets HOT. To the point of me being unable to grip the guard because of the heat. If you are going to run this, I’d advise using m-lok rails and rail covers to provide gripping space that is raised off the actual frame off the guard.
