I got this to fix a problem with a home-made lower whose buffer retainer hole was drilled too far back. I thought this would allow the buffer to advance far enough to touch the bolt carrier, but it doesn't quite. Not this product's fault, but I was disappointed that it didn't fix the issue.
Also, I wish they'd include a spring with this retainer. I thought I had the last piece that I needed for my lower, but it turns out I'm one spring short of being able to complete it.
Still, this thing seems a lot sturdier than the GI retainer and I doubt it'll break like the GI version can.
