The Volquartsen Extended Magazine Release for Ruger MK IV pistols is a high-quality upgrade. The Extended Magazine Release allows the magazine to sit higher in the frame, improving feeding by preventing the bolt from sliding over the rounds. Knurled for both aesthetic and feel, the MK IV 22/45 Magazine release ensures a better feel in each shot. This release will work with factory magazines due to the magazine being raised, but Volquartsen recommends using the Magazine Release in conjunction with the Volquartsen Magazine Base Pads.

Small but great upgrade

It’s a nicer designed mag release than the oem 22/45 style. The knurled feel is better and operates as it should. You will need some extended base pads to perform better on those fast mag changes. You can go without them but they won’t lock down in the magwell half the time.
