Go to mount for all my optics

by -

I love these mounts. They are light weight and pretty strong. Plus the price is right. Compared to "duty" mounts it is not as robust, but let's be honest, most of us aren't using these for duty use and they are way cheaper that some of the big names.

Using for my first AR build and as far as I can tell it’s great quality

Difficult to Level

by

The quality on this is great and I'm sure the function will be fine too when I go to shoot it (have not shot from it yet). But the mounting process on the side mount rings, is extremely difficult to level. On top mount rings (I have both), you can usually keep the scope level then put the top half of the rings and tighten, but on this one, when you tighten the side half of the ring, the scope will move with the tightening adjustment, so to end up with a tightened level scope, you need to compensate for the adjustment by the amount of the leveling correction. If you don't mind spending some time correcting the adjustment, then it's not a big deal. Otherwise, I recommend a cantilever with top mount rings.
