After firing a few thousand rounds, the buffer and spring tend to get stressed and require heavier maintenance cycles to keep the gun in top condition -- primarily because the buffer spring rubs against the inside wall of the buffer tube, creating a distinctive sound and reducing efficiency. Armaspec's single-stage captured drop-in replacement solves this issue while also reducing felt recoil. Because the SMB is a drop-in replacement, the entire swap can be done in a few minutes, and spring tension can be reduced by trimming the mainspring -- each coil represents a quarter pound, for up to 3 lbs (12 coils) of total adjustment.

Note: for proper function in a 9mm rifle or pistol, the extra weight on the back of the bolt carrier must be removed.
