Manufactured by ARMASPEC
Details
Details
Armaspec has been a firearm enthusiast's go-to source for AR15 and AR10 barrels, bolt carrier groups, Glock and Kalishnikov rifle parts, and even 1911 pistol enhancements for the last nine years. This Sound Mitigation Buffer™ for carbine platform rifles from Armaspec is an excellent example of the company's dedication to producing products that offer a tactical advantage at a fair price.
Features
:
After firing a few thousand rounds of your AR15 or AR10 rifle, the buffer and spring tend to get a little stressed and require heavier maintenance cycles to keep the gun in top firing condition. The primary cause of this is that the buffer spring may often rub against the inside wall of the buffer tube. The continuous rubbing will create a distinctive sound while shooting, but it can cause your AR or carbine platform rifle to operate less efficiently. Armaspec features a single-stage captured drop-in replacement for your standard buffer and spring to solve this issue while at the same time reducing felt recoil. With an SMB™ from Armaspec, you'll get smooth and quiet operation, and you can even reduce the spring weight by trimming the mainspring.
Each coil of the spring represents a quarter of a pound which means you can actually reduce the tension of the buffer spring by a maximum of three pounds or no more than twelve coils. The polymer base rod of the SMB™ is ruggedly durable and lightweight and is guaranteed to instantly improve the action of your rifle. This one upgrade from Armaspec means the days of your factory buffer spring rubbing against the inner wall of the buffer tube will cease to exist. Because the SMB™ is a drop-in replacement, the entire replacement process can be accomplished in a few minutes. Priced competitively, this is one upgrade from Armaspec you can make on a budget that will completely change and enhance your carbine rifle shooting experience at the range.

You need the right buffer tube

This SMB will not work in a mil-spec tube. Tried two different mil spec tubes neither worked. Then tried a commercial tube and it worked fine. There is no mention of this in the description.
