Short and difficult to use, sometimes twisting off in the lock, traditional handcuff keys typically present frustrating concerns for most law enforcement officers. Extended keys, although an improvement, are difficult to carry and the double lock pin and pawl release often catch on equipment and clothing.

In it's extended position it's easy to use, and when folded there are no protruding pins to catch on equipment or snag clothing. The entire AutoKey assembly is small enough to comfortably carry in a pocket or a keyring. To extend the key a simple push of a button releases the key, a back set, heat treated key of stainless steel. Another great feature of the AutoKey is the Double Lock Slide which exposes a double lock pin used to stop the handcuffs from ratcheting tighter after the handcuffs are initially locked.
