The National Firearms Act regulates the configurations of some firearms assembled with barrels under 16” long. Attaching this upper to a standard lower without permanently pinning and welding a muzzle device to meet 16" minimum barrel length violates Federal NFA laws.

BCM's professional grade AR-15 barreled upper assembly is built off a MIL-SPEC forged upper receiver with T-marks. The barrel is cold hammer forged from independently certified Mil-B-11595E steel, more commonly known as 41V50 chrome moly vanadium. The combination of high-chrome steel and cold hammer forging allows for an impressively durable barrel with exceptional barrel life, extended further with a military grade chrome lining of the bore and chamber. The barrel has been forged to a Government contour, offering an excellent balance hybrid of light weight and thermal stability when used on select fire weapons. Every barrel used on this upper is individually high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected to ensure this vital component is defect-free!

A mid-length gas system has been selected, offering a host of improvements over the more standard carbine length. Off the bat, the reduced felt recoil and increased dwell time allow for improved accuracy as well as less muzzle movement for faster follow up shots. The reduced cyclic rate significantly reduces the wear and tear on the entire rifle, providing increased service life cycles for every component and fewer breakages as proven by NSWC CRANE testing. The reduced bolt velocity further allows for enhanced reliability and fewer malfunctions.

The Bravo Company MCMR M-LOK handguard is a lightweight and highly modular addition to the upper. The ergonomic shape offers seven tracks of M-LOK slots around the circumference, ensuring every accessory has a place, but can be located exactly where the shooter wants. The rigid mounting system and free floating design eliminate loads from the barrel for improved accuracy, while mitigating movement caused by heat buildup in the rifle.

The included A2 flash hider is a highly effective muzzle device, but does not meet 16" minimum barrel length requirements set by the NFA. It will need to be replaced with a compliant muzzle device that is permanently pinned and welded to the barrel before this upper may be legally attached to a complete lower receiver.
