The 6.8 Western was designed to bring magnum-class terminal performance at long range in a short-action cartridge, and the Browning X-Bolt 2 Medallion is a natural home for it — a gloss blued, Grade III/IV walnut bolt-action that pairs a newer, hard-hitting cartridge with the craftsmanship of a true premium hunting rifle.

The X-Bolt 2 Medallion is a bolt-action hunting rifle designed to leverage the high-BC, large-caliber design of the 6.8 Western in a premium walnut platform with full X-Bolt 2 mechanical refinements.

The 24" sporter barrel allows the 6.8 Western to develop its full velocity potential, and the 7.5" twist rate stabilizes the cartridge's longer, heavier projectiles effectively. At 7 lbs, this rifle balances field portability with the stability needed for longer shots. The DLX Trigger delivers a 3.5-lb pull with zero creep and zero overtravel, adjustable to 3.0 lbs.

The detachable 3-round magazine provides adequate capacity for hunting applications, and the M13x0.75 threaded muzzle accepts the included radial muzzle brake to manage the 6.8 Western's recoil, or the included thread protector for a cleaner look.

Gloss blued metalwork, an engraved receiver, rosewood fore-end tip and grip cap, and Grade III/IV walnut with traditional point checkering give this rifle the visual character the Medallion line is known for. Bedded action and free-floated barrel provide consistent accuracy.
