Bushnell powerview 12x50mm compact Porro Prism binoculars offer a substantial value play for sport shooters, and outdoor observers as well as hunters and sports spectators who need to have high magnification and can't be bothered by hard-to-rationalize price points. The 12x magnification is more than substantial for most normal activities, and offers quite a bit of magnification, given the compact overall size of these binoculars. Most 12x50 mm binoculars weigh-in at much heavier weights and have much larger footprints than the Bushnell Powerview 12x50 Compact. The weight is 27oz and the footprint is 8 inches long by 6 inches wide by 3.5 inches high. The extremely large 50mm objective lens on the binocular offers significant light gathering capability, and despite the lower overall cost of this high performance binocular, the user can legitimately expect better-than-average optical quality for the price point, while getting extreme magnification potential.
Features:
The field of view is 267 ft at 1000 yards with a scant 7mm eye relief making this a very easy to use pair of binoculars with a fully encompassing; usable, field of view. There is a BAK7 porro prism and the multi-coated optics come encased in black rubberized armor which gives some help to ensure shock protection, as well as wet hand or gloved hand use. There is a relatively short focus of 40ft., and the 27 oz package delivers on all fronts, especially considering the (significantly) sub $100 price point of this offering by Bushnell.
A single bridge integrated focus lever allows quick and easy adjustment for most users while the overall compact size (considering the big magnification), and ultra large objective lenses provide a great hybridization between capability and footprint. Bushnell is known for providing value-oriented binoculars and other sports related optics, including hunting specific scopes and sporting equipment, and while you might not put it up 1-to-1 against some of the most premium names out there, for the money it's hard to match the specifications (which match many binoculars 3 times the price). The Bushnell Powerview 12x50mm compact porro prism style binoculars offer both the casual user and the experienced user a well-built value-oriented option that can be counted on reliably in the field.
