The Colt 1911 Rail Gun is the XSE Government Model with a factory-integrated MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail — Hartford-built on the same forged steel foundation as every Government Model Colt, now with the ambidextrous safety, Novak sights, National Match barrel, and tactical rail that define the XSE series. Brushed stainless throughout, it is the full-dress XSE package on a platform with over a century of proven performance behind it.

The Colt 1911 Rail Gun XSE is a single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, built on a forged stainless steel frame and forged stainless steel slide with a 5-inch forged stainless National Match barrel, finished in brushed stainless throughout.

The forged stainless steel construction — receiver, slide, barrel, and slide stop all forged — provides the structural integrity and corrosion resistance that Colt stainless Government Models are specifically noted for among 1911 collectors and shooters. The Series 80 firing pin safety adds a passive drop safety to the traditional 1911 controls package. The National Match barrel is fitted to tighter tolerances than standard GI barrels for improved accuracy straight from the factory. Novak Low Mount Carry sights deliver a fast, precise sight picture in a low-snag dovetail configuration. The Colt Tactical ambidextrous safety allows left- and right-hand operation equally. The Colt upswept beavertail grip safety with palm swell ensures consistent activation with a high grip and adds comfort during extended shooting sessions. The MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail on the dust cover accepts lights and lasers without modification. The lowered and flared ejection port ensures reliable brass clearance. G10 checkered grip panels provide a tactile, non-slip grip surface. One 7-round Colt magazine is included.
