The Colt Monolithic Carbine machines the flat-top receiver and free-float handguard into a single one-piece 7075-T6 aluminum upper, giving this carbine a continuous Picatinny rail that holds zero better than a traditional two-piece flat-top-and-handguard setup.
Features:
- One-piece 7075-T6 monolithic upper receiver with an integral free-float handguard
- Continuous MIL-STD-1913 top rail runs unbroken from the charging handle to the gas block
- 16.1-inch chrome-lined M4-profile barrel, 1:7 twist, 1/2x28 threaded muzzle
- Carbine-length direct impingement gas system
- No rail gap at the receiver joint, keeping optics, magnifiers, and night vision on one plane
- Ships with a 20-round magazine
Because the top rail is machined as one continuous piece rather than bolted together from a separate flat-top and handguard, removing and reinstalling an optic doesn't risk shifting zero the way a rail with a seam at the receiver joint can, a genuine advantage for anyone running a magnifier or night vision device that gets added and removed regularly.
Colt has manufactured the M4/M16 platform for the U.S. military since the 1960s, and its patrol and enhanced patrol rifles carry that same manufacturing standard into the commercial and law enforcement markets rather than a rebadged parts-kit build. That reliability shows up range trip after range trip, build after build.
