Full mil-spec AR-10 construction in a nickel boron finish — built for .308 Win and 7.62x51 platforms. The Cryptic Coatings .308 BCG is a full-auto-profile AR-10 bolt carrier group machined from 8620 aircraft-quality steel, compatible with DPMS LR-308 pattern platforms, finished in nickel boron.
The Cryptic Coatings .308 Win Bolt Carrier Group is a full-auto-profile AR-10 BCG compatible with DPMS LR-308 pattern platforms in .308 Win and 7.62x51mm, machined from mil-spec 8620 aircraft-quality steel with a 8620 steel bolt carrier, Grade 8 staked gas key, and nickel boron finish.
Four specifications define this BCG's construction. The 8620 steel carrier is heat treated to 60–61 RC and finished in nickel boron for self-lubricating surface hardness and easy cleaning, providing the surface hardness and bore protection required in the higher-pressure operating environment of .308 Win and 7.62x51 compared to 5.56 platforms. Grade 8 gas key fasteners are properly staked per mil-spec, ensuring gas seal integrity under the sustained rapid fire that AR-10 platforms are increasingly used for in competition and duty applications where key backing-out causes cycling failures. The shrouded firing pin design protects the firing pin from carbon buildup and provides dimensional control over the pin's travel path. DPMS LR-308 platform compatibility covers the broad range of AR-10 pattern rifles built to that standard.
Compatible with DPMS LR-308 pattern AR-10 platforms in .308 Win and 7.62x51mm. Full-auto profile carrier — backward compatible with all semi-automatic rifles. BCG weight: 17.8 oz.
