The Dan Wesson Specialist was originally developed for law enforcement agencies that wanted a more durable 1911 than what they were carrying. Built for demanding daily use, this full-size 9mm pistol pairs a forged stainless slide with night sights for reliable, fast target acquisition.

Dan Wesson's inverted top rib on the Specialist's slide reduces glare and gives the eye a cleaner path to the front sight, which pairs with a tritium front sight and tactical ledge rear sight for fast acquisition in a range of lighting conditions. The frame's integral Picatinny rail accepts a weapon light without an added rail adapter, while 25 LPI checkering on the front strap and an undercut trigger guard help maintain a high, consistent grip. A recessed slide stop leaves room for laser grip panels, and the ambidextrous thumb safety and detachable magwell support manipulation from either hand.
