The Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS III Complete AR-15 Upper Receiver in Flat Dark Earth pairs a 14.5" cold hammer forged M4-profile barrel with the 12.5" RIS III M-LOK rail, pinned and welded to a legal 16" overall length with a Daniel Defense flash suppressor.

The RIS III rail is modeled on the SOCOM-developed RIS II two-piece handguard, trimmed down for weight while keeping M203 grenade launcher compatibility, and its 6-bolt bolt-up system clamps to the upper receiver for a rigid, repeatable mount. The mid-length gas system smooths recoil impulse compared to a carbine-length system on the same barrel, and the M16-profile bolt carrier group adds durability beyond a standard semi-auto BCG.
