The Daniel Defense M4A1 RIII 14.5" 5.56 NATO Complete Upper Receiver in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) is a great option for your next AR-15 build. It features a 14.5-inch Cold Hammer Forged M4 Profile barrel with a pinned and welded Daniel Defense flash suppressor and a mid-length gas system for a smoother recoil impulse. The 12.5-inch lightweight RIS III rail, modeled after the SOCOM-developed RIS II handguard, provides M-LOK attachment points and compatibility with M203 grenade launchers. This upper receiver also includes a GRIP-N-RIP charging handle and an M16 profile bolt carrier group for enhanced reliability.

Constructed from premium materials, the upper receiver is CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized. The barrel is made from Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, chrome-lined, and Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coated for longevity. The gas system features a pinned low profile gas block made from 4140 hardened steel. The Daniel Defense flash suppressor is pinned and welded, made from 17-4 PH stainless steel, and salt bath nitride finished. The RIS III handguard is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and utilizes a patented 6-bolt bolt-up system. The GRIP-N-RIP charging handle is also CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum.
