The Daniel Defense M4A1 AR-15 Upper Receiver Group is designed for superior performance and durability. At the core of this upper receiver group is a 14.5-inch Cold Hammer Forged M4 Profile barrel, featuring a permanently attached Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor. The inclusion of the GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle and a mid-length gas system further enhances its functionality and ease of use.

This upper receiver also boasts a 12.5-inch lightweight RIS III rail, which is modeled after the revolutionary RIS II two-piece handguard developed for SOCOM. The RIS III rail incorporates M-LOK attachment points, providing a lighter weight solution while still accommodating an M203 grenade launcher attachment. As with all Daniel Defense complete upper receiver groups, it comes standard with an M16 profile bolt carrier group.

The upper receiver is Mil-Spec with Indexing Marks and M4 Feed Ramps, CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum, and finished with Type III Hard Coat Anodizing. The barrel is crafted from Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel, cold hammer forged with a 1:7 twist, chrome lined, and coated with Mil-Spec Heavy Phosphate, also passing HP/MPI testing.

The gas system includes a pinned low profile gas block, CNC machined from 4140 hardened steel with Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coating, and operates on a mid-length direct impingement system. The pinned and welded Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor is extended, made from 17-4 PH stainless steel, and finished with a salt bath nitride.

The handguard is a Daniel Defense RIS III 12.5 with a patented 6-bolt bolt-up system, CNC machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum. The GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle is CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum for the body and 6061-T6 Aluminum for the handles and latch, featuring heavy-duty stainless steel roll pins and Type III Hard Coat Anodizing.
