The Daniel Defense MFR XL Handguard is a free float M-LOK rail that eliminates the contact points between the handguard and barrel found on standard two-piece M4-style handguards, increasing accuracy and reducing weight at the muzzle end of the barrel.
Features:
- Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum
- Mil-Spec Type III hardcoat anodized
- Uninterrupted 1913 Picatinny top rail
- M-LOK attachment points on the sides and bottom
- 4 quick-detach sling swivel sockets
- Designed for use with a suppressor
- 1.61" internal diameter
- Includes proprietary steel barrel nut and mounting hardware
The M-LOK attachment system lets you mount rail sections, grips, bipods, lights, and other accessories only where you need them, rather than carrying rail weight down the full length of the handguard, while the continuous top rail still supports back-up sights without any risk of losing zero. The patented mounting system uses a steel barrel nut that locks tight to the handguard, with anti-rotation tabs that make installation and alignment straightforward. At 15 inches, this rail fully covers rifle-length gas systems, and the increased 1.61-inch internal diameter clears most suppressors for a short, suppressed barrel setup. Four integral QD sling swivel sockets on the rear give you sling mounting from either side.

This is bulky because it’s made to be wide enough to to house a suppressor under the handguard. No issues, very much enjoy the tail, very firm and in spec

I wasnt a big fan of this rail. The handguard is bulky. In addition the anti rotation tabs werent wide enough for any upper i tried it on and had to be tapped open to fit over the upper
