The Ed Brown Special Forces is a single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, built on a single-stack Government model stainless steel frame and Government-length stainless steel slide in black Gen4 coating with a 5-inch stainless steel barrel. Completely hand-built in Perry, Missouri.

The Gen4 coating is a physical vapor deposition process applied to the stainless steel frame and slide that provides severe-use wear resistance and rust protection beyond what traditional bluing or Parkerizing achieves. The exclusive Chainlink III metal treatment on the forestrap and mainspring housing is machined directly into the steel — not a surface application — providing a deeply aggressive, high-traction grip texture that performs in wet, dirty, and gloved conditions. The Government-length slide features a flattened and serrated top to eliminate glare in bright light, and a recessed slide stop for a clean, snag-free profile. The orange HD XR front night sight and fixed black rear sight provide fast, carry-ready target acquisition. Black VZ grip panels — manufactured by VZ Grips of Phoenix, Arizona — add tactical texture and a distinctive look that complements the black Gen4 finish.
