Cheap Gunsmith

by -

I used these wedges on two builds, a LaRue and a LMT. I bought all the parts separately, over a period of time as they weren’t available when I started either project. When the uppers and lowers were put together there was a slight wiggle. Using the wedges tightened them up quite a bit and eliminated any rattle. I bought a new Colt AR years ago and it had one of these wedges in it stock from the factory. It was a limited edition rifle. If it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me. I’m sure either the LaRue or the LMT would have been tighter than my assemblies. But, it’s like when you have a spare roll pin and decide you can’t waste it so you get a couple of other parts and build another rifle.
