This upper has an 8" barrel. Installing it on a lower receiver configured as a rifle with a shoulder stock makes the firearm a short-barreled rifle under the National Firearms Act, which requires ATF approval and a tax stamp before assembly. Know your federal, state, and local laws before purchasing.
The Expo Arms Barreled AR-15 Upper Receiver in .300 Blackout pairs an 8" SOCOM-profile barrel with a slim 7" free-float M-LOK handguard, giving short-barrel builds a compact, lightweight front end. It is built for pistol and short-barreled rifle projects where size and handling matter most.
Features:
- 8" SOCOM-profile barrel chambered in .300 AAC Blackout, 1:8 twist
- 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a salt bath nitride finish
- Pistol-length gas system with a generous port size, .750" gas seat diameter
- Threaded 5/8x24 muzzle
- 7" free-float M-LOK handguard, 6061-T6 aluminum
- 7 rows of M-LOK slots for lights, foregrips, and other accessories
- Anti-rotation tabs
- Hardcoat anodized black finish
- Bolt carrier group and charging handle not included
The pistol-length gas system with a generous port size supports reliable function with both supersonic and subsonic loads, and the 1:8 twist keeps a variety of bullet types stabilized. The salt bath nitride finish adds corrosion and wear resistance for hard use.
The free-float design keeps the handguard off the barrel for consistent accuracy, and the anti-rotation tabs keep it from twisting so mounted accessories stay where you put them. At 7" it keeps the front end light and easy to maneuver, with M-LOK slots on every side.
Note: the bolt carrier group and charging handle are not included.
Note: heavier buffer may be recommended depening on use case and ammunition selection
Expo Arms builds mil-spec AR-15 components aimed at hard-use builds, offering the rail space and durability serious shooters need.
