Faxon Firearms 16" 6.5 Grendel Type II Mid-Length Gunner AR-15 Barrel
Details
Details
Manufacturing of Faxon barrels begins and ends in their Cincinnati, Ohio facility under ISO 9001/9100 quality certifications. Each barrel they produce is fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11-degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Crafted from the best materials, either certified 4150 MIL-SPEC steel or 416R stainless, each barrel undergoes rigorous quality controls before QPQ finishing and final inspection. Once finished, each barrel is examined for proper headspace using precision custom hardened gauges.
Safety Note: Choosing 6.5 Grendel comes with an added complication. There are “Type I” and “Type II” bolt/barrel specifications out there, and you CAN NOT mix and match parts for each of them without risk of damage and/or injury. Type II is by far the most popular configuration, but pay attention to what you are buying! A Type I bolt won’t chamber rounds in a Type II barrel at all. Even worse, a Type II bolt mated to a Type I barrel will create excessive headspace and result in a rifle that is dangerous to fire.

Good barrel for the price.

Used this barrel in my Grendel build. At first had gas issues causing short stroking of the BCG. Tore the build back down and up inspection found what appeared to be a burr that was present in the gas port. Cleaned this up using the proper drill bit. Reassembled the rifle and ran flawlessly with no other issues. It eats all ammo I have ran through it to this point, seems to like 120gr and 123gr the best for accuracy results.
Very good

I can't imagine expecting more from a barrel this thing is dang near perfect the feed ramps are a little bit Sharp for a Grendel I had to smooth them over a little bit to keep from slicing into the bullet as it was loaded into the chamber but that's very small complaint super accurate Barrel super tight fit with the upper receiver pretty much flawless
